![]() The Refurbished Equipment Marketplace is a centralized depository of previously owned assistive technologies that have been donated, refurbished and made available for purchase to individuals and dealers throughout New Hampshire. Each year the REM sells over 500 pieces of equipment (wheelchairs. mobility aids. hospital beds. bath aids. lift chairs. portable ramps. etc.) to persons who find the cost of new technology prohibitive. An Equipment Donation to the REM is the first step in providing quality equipment, which might otherwise remain unused. to those who are in need of affordable assistive technology solutions. All donations are tax deductible and free pick-up is available. The REM Showroom in Concord provides consumers the oppor¬tunity to examine and test quality equipment (both pediatric and adult) that is available at a fraction of the cost of new. This resource is invaluable for individuals and families who have limited or no insurance coverage. or who need "uncovered items" such as mobility devices, back-up equipment, bath aids, ramps. etc. All equipment sold includes a 3D-day warranty. The REM Equipment Rental program offers an affordable option for those who require short-term equipment solutions. Should a change in circumstances occur, rental payments may be applied to the purchase of the device. Delivery and pick-up services are available. The New England Assistive Technology Exchange (www.neatexchange.org) is a collaborative effort by the states of Maine. New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island to coordinate a website that enables consumers and professionals to access a variety of previously owned assistive technology solutions: The process for the consumer is easy, con¬venient. and free. Simply log on and search fur a specific item or browse through the categories. The option to sell, trade, or donate equipment via the website is open to the public. The REM is proud contributor and for your convenience maintains an updated inventory list on this site. The REM Maintenance and Repair Services staff is certified to repair Invacare, Sunrise Medical/Quickie, and Pride products. All equipment is serviced according to manufacturers' specifica¬tions and safety recommendations. The REM is funded by Franklin Savings Bank, the Endowment for Health, individual donations, and the New Hampshire Technology Partnership Project, Grant #H224-940015 from the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).
